Bed Timber Rot!

In the old clock tower, “ships’ knees” providing bracing between the bed timbers and clock tower posts. While we knew that the post had significant rot, we weren’t able to see that it extended to the bed timbers until we removed the knees to prepare for crane day. The afternoon before crane day was spent procuring, laying out, and cutting two new bed timbers.
